A Message From the Superintendent

Good Afternoon, 
We are pleased to share that Mr. Thomas Lyons will serve as Interim Principal at Newfane Elementary School beginning today, August 26. 

Mr. Lyons is working closely with Mr. Gammiero this week to ensure a smooth transition. Mr. Lyons is a former elementary special education teacher and Supervisor of Special Education services at Erie 1 BOCES, with 30 years of experience as an Elementary Principal at Alden Central Schools. He has also successfully served in interim school administrative roles in the Lockport, Williamsville, Amherst, Cheektowaga, Maryvale, and Lancaster schools, as well as other public and Catholic schools. We are fortunate to have Mr. Lyons' experience, skills, and steady school leadership during this transition period. Mr. Lyons will be with us through the fall as we conduct a search for our next Newfane Elementary Principal. Mr. Lyons will be at Meet the Teacher night on September 3 and looks forward to meeting all of you. 

He is overwhelmingly excited to welcome our students back on September 8. Let's give Mr. Lyons a warm welcome to our Panther family!!
