Newfane CSD Summer Updates
August 12, 2025
Dear Newfane School Community,
I hope this message finds everyone healthy and well. I wanted to reach out and share some updates regarding Newfane Central Schools.
Relocated Newfane Early Childhood Center (NECC) - As of August 12th, we have officially moved our Universal Pre-Kindergarten Program and Central Administrative offices from Godfrey Road into the new NECC (old Intermediate School). This move provided Newfane CSD an additional revenue stream for the leasing of the Godfrey building, a reduction in expenditures, and ability to centralize and consolidate our district into three buildings. As of this week, the new playground is being built in the area between the Sunshine Cafeteria and Gymnasium. This will provide a safe and secure area for our youngest students to enjoy.
The new address is:
6175 East Avenue
Newfane, NY 14108
Upcoming Capital Project - We are currently in the planning phase for our next Capital Project which we will be presenting to our taxpayers this winter. We have to address some major mechanical and control system infrastructure needs. In addition, we would like to improve the state of our middle school classrooms. Our middle school building is a beautiful centerpiece of our community. However, the interior classrooms have not been updated since the school was built in 1948. With this next capital project, we are aiming to provide our middle school students with a modern learning focused environment that will increase engagement and connection.
Heating Units at Elementary School - Last winter, we experienced some heating issues at the Elementary School. We were able to reallocate dollars from our 2020 Capital Project to purchase and install replacement unit ventilators for all classrooms in A and B wings.
Away for the Day Policy - The 2025-2026 New York State Budget included a ban on internet-enabled devices for schools during instructional time which we will be implementing beginning September 2nd. Please visit our school website to review our policy and other resources on the distraction free schools page under the parents tab of our school website https://newfane.wnyric.org/212542_2
I hope that all of you enjoy these last few weeks of summer. Please know that you will be receiving building specific letters from the respective principals in the next week or so.
I am greatly looking forward to seeing all of our students return on September 2nd.
Warm Regards,
James J. Lupini
