Last year, our Open House event was redesigned to offer different types of information to parents we hope you will feel are relevant and important. Parent University will be held February 27, 2020, from 5 PM - 8 PM. We hope you will consider joining us for some or all of this exciting night. This event is open to all parents/guardians of Newfane students, K-12 and you are welcome to attend with your child(ren).
Our academic departments have worked hard to develop sessions that will be specifically relevant to you and your child at this point in the school year. This information will be presented in 25 minute sessions, which will run from 6 PM - 8 PM. More information will be posted soon. The schedule will allow you to attend up to four different sessions. If you are unable to make it to a session of interest, please consider e-mailing the staff member(s) involved. They will be happy to share any slides, hand outs, or information provided.
We are also excited to announce Kids Escaping Drugs will offer a new presentation, The Dark Side of Social Media, from 5 PM - 6PM in the High School Chorus Room. This session will provide parents an in depth look at current popular social media trends and how they can escalate substance use and abuse among adolescents. It will cover topics like the dark web, cryptocurrency, online marketing, and popular social media applications. Please see the enclosed flier for more details.
Also from 5 PM - 6 PM, we will have a student art showcase, various clubs and organizations hosting tables to provide information, and a Chiavetta's Chicken Dinner sale benefitting the class of 2021. Skip the dishes and support our students!
