Guidance Counselor, Grades 11-12 (plus all foreign exchange students)

I am a Niagara County native, having been raised in Ransomville, NY.  After graduating from high school, I attended SUNY Potsdam for two years.  I then enlisted in the US Air Force, serving on active duty for two enlistments as a medic/EMT.  I was stationed at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS, and then Plattsburgh AFB, Plattsburgh, NY.  While in the military I was really busy.  I got married, had two daughters, took many part time college courses, experienced a hurricane, was briefly deployed to England during the first Gulf War, was a Nationally Registered EMT, and challenged/passed the LPN nursing exam.  After leaving the military I went back to college full time, again, and received my Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Buffalo State College.  I worked for a few years in NYS as an LPN until my wife got settled in her career in WNY.  It was then my time to go back to college (yes, yet again).  I received my Masters in Education- School Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Studies from UB.  I consider myself blessed to have worked at Newfane for my entire career, which started in 1997. All my years have been at the high school level.  I believe in treating others with respect and a caring demeanor.  I am usually an upbeat person and love humor.  I strive to give our students the best possible information, tools, resources, and advice from the benefit of my experiences/training/education. In doing so it is my hope that students can make the best decision possible for them for their short range and long range goals/plans or situation.
